Personal Support Worker (PSW) - Long Term Care

A thirty (30) hour per pay period, Part-Time Permanent Personal Support Worker (PSW) - Long Term Care position is being offered in the Radiant Care Pleasant Manor Nursing department.

The start date of this position is to be determined.

Thursday 14:00-22:00

Saturday 06:00-14:00


WEEK #2
Sunday 06:00-14:00

Tuesday 14:00-22:00


Qualifications
Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to,

  • Training and education in caring for seniors in long term care
  • Demonstrated experience in caring for seniors in long term care
  • Current CPR Certification an asset
  • Valid PSW Certification

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Duties and Responsibilities
Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to,

  • Provides safe and efficient personal care for residents including all activities of daily living to ensure optimum physical, social, recreational, spiritual and psychological wellbeing
  • Effectively communicates with residents, staff and families
  • Provides excellent customer service in a respectful, courteous and pleasant manner
  • Provides individualized service in a homelike setting
  • Adapt to changing needs of residents and be able to adjust service delivery, as required under the direction of the ADOC/DOC
  • Observes and reports changes in resident's status
  • Records necessary data on resident health and provision of service
  • Shares responsibility for care of equipment in the home and personal belongings of residents
  • Works cooperatively with team members
  • Receives direction from registered staff
  • Participates in quality improvement activities, inservice sessions, training as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
