    Description

    We are seeking a committed Early Childhood Assistant with a passion for interacting with young children and working within a team environment.

    Updated Medical completed
    Standard First Aid & Level C CPR
    Food Handlers Certificate an asset
    Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered


    EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
    Preference would be given to those who have previous experience working in a Child Care or working with groups of children
    Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen and City of Toronto AQI an asset


    SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:
    ~18 years of age or older
    ~ Excellent oral & written communication skills required to work with children, parents and other staff
    ~ Complete all on-line Salvation Army courses
    ~ Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening
    ~ Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities
