RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Supervise the preperation and distribution of meals and nourishments to patients and cafeteria customers and visitors
  • Supervise and monitor the warewashing and cleaning of supplies used for meal and nourishment service
  • Ensure that all Food Services Employees are scheduled in accordance with Departmental requirements and in accordance with all terms of the Collective Agreement
  • Ensure that a clean, orderly and safe working environment is maintained
  • Ensure that the operating equipment pertaining to the assigned tasks in food services is maintained in a safe and correct manner
  • Monitor the inventory control procedures within the department
  • Maintain knowledge of community Hospital Diets and related practices
  • Provide education to all Food Service Employees as required
  • Ensure ongoing professional practice development as part of the CSMN
  • Comply with all policies, procedures and guidelines of the department and Hospital in performance of your daily duities
  • Demostrate QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation and respect

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Food Service Supervisor Certification
  • Eligible for membership in the CSMN
  • Five (5) years experience in a health care environment
  • Sound and working knowledge of the CUPE Collective Agreement
  • Good English communication skills
  • Proven ability to work well and create a strong team setting
  • Demonstrated commitment and responsibility to all aspects of the job
  • Ability to independently assess, prioritize and adjust routines in accordance with the patient/unit activity and multiple simultaneous requests
  • Sound and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Meditech / CBord experience an asset
