Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and update effective large scale systems to meet functionality requirements
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and company standards
  • Manage a continuous maintenance program for automated systems in partnership with provider
  • Monitor and improve performance metrics for operations and systems
  • Manage resident maintenance provider
  • Manage equipment maintenance budgets
  • Create and maintain documentation related to systems and processes
  • Create end to end testing procedures
  • Provide technical support and training to team members
  • Liaise with third party vendors for equipment and software
  • Stabilize testing procedures, troubleshoot equipment, write test scripts to isolate bugs
  • Perform troubleshooting load tests and report defects
  • Program and verify automated testing tools
  • Research new features and technologies
  • Support high priority fault escalation

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Automated Manufacturing, or a related field
  • Master's degree or CAP certification, an asset
  • A minimum of 5 years experience managing similar functions in a large automated facility
  • A minimum of 2 years experience with industrial automation
  • Thorough understanding of a breadth of distribution center processes
  • Demonstrated experience using analytics to improve operations with tangible results and within tight timelines
  • Prior experience working with retail operations systems including order management systems, warehouse management systems, distributed order management, middleware integration, an asset
  • Prior experience in data mining, manipulating large datasets, querying databases, data analysis and reporting, an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Autocad, automation frameworks, and test suites
  • Knowledge of languages for automated testing, data management and statistical computing such as Access, C++, SQL, Hadoop, R, or Python
  • Working knowledge of PLC, IPC and similar industrial automation
