JOB OPPORTUNITY - Housekeeper - Full-Time Permanent Position

Youthdale Treatment Centres is a fully accredited Children's Mental Health organization with a mission to provide children, adolescents and their care-givers access to the best available psychiatric care and support, restoring hope, and helping individuals reach their full potential.

Youthdale is seeking a Housekeeper to join its inpatient unit team.

Reporting to Clinical Operations Manager, the Housekeeper works on the inpatient units and is responsible for the general cleaning of the units.

Youthdale's Inpatient Units operate on a 24/7 basis and thus shift work, including nights and weekends is required.

The focus is to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for clients, while adhering to Youthdale's policies and procedures and guidelines established by the Ministries of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care (MOH)

Location: 227 Victoria Street, Toronto, ON

Position Status:
Full-Time Permanent

Hours of work:35 hours per week

Union/Non:
This is a unionized position

Rate of pay:
$18.50 per hour

Accountability:

This position reports directly to: TPU Clinical Operations Manager

Corporate Responsibilities:

Fosters positive interpersonal relationships with staff, and clients.
Maintains and adheres to organizational policies and procedures.
Attends work on a regular and consistent basis.
Adheres to Occupational Health and Safety Policies.

Responsibilities:

Following the schedule of duties or any other housekeeping duties which may include:
General cleaning of the unit (i.e. vacuuming, washing floors and walls, cleaning the stove and fridge, tidying and/or cleaning out cupboards, window cleaning, general cleanliness and maintenance of the units, admission area, laundry room and gym)
Ordering grocery and menu items.
Some meal preparation.
Doing laundry for clients.
Receiving clean linen and towels and sending soiled linen and towels to St. Michael's Hospital.
Conducting an inspection of the units with a charge staff at the start of the day to note any cleanliness or maintenance issues.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous related experience preferred.
Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written.
Knowledgeable in Health and Safety and sanitation regulations.
