GTA & SOUTH WESTERN ONTARIO**
TYPE OF POSITION:FULL TIME**The Road Service Technician (Mechanic) is responsible for responding to road service calls.

This person will be troubleshooting and performing mechanical repairs and installs on a variety of heavy equipment while in the field.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Licensed Heavy Equipment or Truck & Coach Mechanic
  • 3+ years' experience in a Road Technician/ Journeyman position or a related role
  • Chassis experience considered an asset
  • Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work
  • Experience setting up and operating complex machinery
  • Exposure to Street Sweepers, Vacuum Trucks or Refuse equipment considered an asset
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with a positive and professional manner with colleagues and customers
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Selfmotivated, ability to plan and execute aspects of work independently
  • Independent problem solver, resourceful and decision maker
  • Organization and timemanagement works efficiently to manage and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated team player and willing to assist others when required
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repairs on a variety of heavy equipment in the field
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Communicate with Road Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
  • Complete all work order functions in PFW for all service calls completed
  • Manage Service Truck inventory and ensure all required items are in place for health and safety compliance
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned
