    Description

    Role Summary:

    Element5 is inviting applications for a Cost Accountant with at least two years of relevant work experience. This role is essential for managing and analyzing cost information to enhance business efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses a strong background in cost accounting, and is passionate about contributing to sustainable construction solutions.

    This position is located in St. Thomas, Ontario.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures.
    • Perform cost analysis and prepare detailed reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
    • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, focusing on cost analysis.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
    • Manage inventory valuations and oversee cost-related inventory control measures.
    • Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions that align with sustainable construction practices.

    Qualifications:

    • University degree in Accounting.
    • A minimum of two years of work experience in cost accounting or a related field, in a manufacturing environment.
    • CPA designation, or actively working towards obtaining a CPA.
    • Demonstrated analytical skills and precision in handling financial data.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
    • Interest in sustainability and innovation within the construction industry.
