Description
We are looking for a permanent part time cook to join our team at our faith based long term care home.
The Cook prepares meals which are balanced, nutritious and appealing for the residents of the facility. Responsibilities include the preparation of regular and special diet foods including texture modified foods. Responsibilities include assigning task to dietary aides and maintenance of an orderly, sanitary work area. Assist in storing and the inventory of supplies and food.- Graduation from a recognized 12 month program in cooking or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Must have Food Safe Certificate Level 1 (within 5 years) and Advanced Food Safe Level 2 Certificate preferred
- Must have WHIMS certification (within the last year)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be proficient in understanding the English Language
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Must be physically capable to lift, bend down and stand long periods of time.
Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 28.5 per week
Salary:
$26.51 per hour
