At our Head Office based in Richmond BC, this role will take responsibility for executing purchasing activities in a timely and efficient manner.

Let's get into the detail


This role will:

  • Monitor all purchasing activities and design various costeffective methods, ensuring flow of inventory that guarantees optimum stock levels and meets turnover goals
  • Execute the negotiation of purchases requisitions/ orders. Adapt negotiation strategies to cope with new circumstances or issues that arise
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers
  • Stay current with internal and external factors impacting procurement function, this will also include attending local and international trade shows, seminars and webinars
  • Execute the organization's purchasing policies and procedures, standards and strategies
  • Propose alternate arrangement the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize impact on the organization
  • Recommend costsavings alternatives to the team
  • Execute and process claims against suppliers. Ensure the accurate processing of all debits/ damages, chargebacks and transfers based on Company policies and procedures
  • Source potential suppliers and maintain strong relationship with current ones
  • Analyze and evaluate vendors/ suppliers' performance to improve purchasing process
  • Provide support to Senior Purchasing & Planning Manager to plan and execute all purchasing processes
  • Assist with New Product Development / Marketing on sourcing specific items for special projects
  • Organize, secure and maintain files and documentation in the database
  • Prepare routine reports for the Purchasing department
  • Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor

To be successful in this role the individual must also have:


  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience handling products, including evaluation of cost and quality of materials, equipment, products or services
  • Enhanced computer skills; ability to work with more complex software and systems
  • Strong commitment to leadership, management, transparency, and a code of ethical conduct
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fastpaced environment, multitask and work under pressure
  • Proficient in the use of English language
