About the role


Canadian Blood Services is looking for a
Regular full-time Manager, End User Devices to join our dynamic
IT Infrastructure, Operations and Delivery team.


The
IT Infrastructure Operations & Delivery team is responsible for managing and maintaining Canadian Blood Services (CBS) IT infrastructure to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of its technology systems.

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for leading the End User Device Solutions and Provisioning teams to provide services in the areas of acquisition, provisioning, configuration, deployment, maintenance, support and decommissioning of laptop and desktop computers, mobile devices, and printers.

You will also be accountable for the strategy, planning and execution of the delivery of end user devices used by internal CBS stakeholders in order to meet Canadian Blood Services' business goals with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.


Formula for success

  • Leveraging you ability to think critically and your experience in IT program management, you will develop, maintain and execute strategic and tactical plans for end user devices which meet Canadian Blood Services' internal stakeholder's short and longterm needs.
  • Utilizing your leadership skills, you will manage a team of resources to meet defined needs, ensuring that the team has the appropriate size and mix of experience and skills.
  • Leveraging your technical expertise and collaboration skills, you will investigate and recommend solutions for new capabilities and/or enhancement to existing capabilities, in consultation with other IT functions and the business based on customer requirements and established IT architecture.
  • Harnessing you customer focused mindset, you will manage end user device deployment and ongoing support to end users at CBS Alta Vista and Lancaster locations.
  • Capitalizing on your analytical and organizational skills, you will forecast and manage the cost structure of end user devices ensuring that an adequate budget is allocated to provide the required services.
  • Drawing upon you adeptness, you will be accountable for the development and maintenance of effective IT processes, policies and strategies relating to end user device deployment, maintenance, decommissioning and hardware asset management.

Desired education and skills

  • Postsecondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Five years of directly related progressive leadership experience including involvement in technology operations and infrastructure management within a midsized organization.
  • Strong understanding of end user device management, inventory management and supply chain principles.
  • Advanced organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience evaluating and implementing end user technology such as laptops, desktops, mobile phones, tablets, etc.
  • Committed to promoting a team environment and collaborating with stakeholders from various functional areas.

What you can expect

  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week.
  • You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.
  • If you are located outside of Ottawa, you may be expected to travel to our office location in Ottawa Lancaster Rd, quarterly for inperson team meetings when required.
