As Education Programs Officer, you will work collaboratively with faculty leadership, residents and administrative staff to support the educational mandate in the Department of Psychiatry.

You will manage the day-to-day operations of the postgraduate education unit.

Your proven track record of delivering projects and driving process improvement will be critical to the success of our programs.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Overseeing daytoday educational program needs for the department
  • Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
  • Determining logístical details required for the execution of admissions processes
  • Assessing and revising processes that support administrative activities and objectives
  • Analyzing data, generating reports and identifying discrepancies
  • Fostering strong working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years of related, progressively responsible administrative experience in a university environment coordinating education programs
  • Demonstrated experience with residency education and competency based education, and knowledge of relevant U of T policies and procedures
  • Experience developing project plans, reports andcommunication materials
  • Experience supporting and coordinating committees and events
  • Experience compiling and analyzing data and generating reports
  • Experience developing new procedures and processes and seeing them through from conception to implementation, and evaluating existing programs and systems and making recommendations for change
  • Highly developed computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Excel in particular), Adobe Professional, survey tools (Microsoft Forms, Survey Monkey, Doodle), learning management systems (POWER, Elentra Quercus) and web conferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a wide range of stakeholders is essential
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through project analysis and problem solving
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and summarize and disseminate information
  • Demonstrated ability to predict the need for changes and react quickly to make recommendations and/or implement new policies/processes
  • Shows sound judgment in the handling of sensitive and confidential matters
  • Willingness to develop and share technological expertise
