At the Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET), the purpose of the Project Manager is to lead and manage consulting projects undertaken by CIET in the field of energy transition and decarbonization capacity building in Canada.
The Project Manager contributes to projects advancing the clean energy transition by building capacity or directly supporting utility, grid operator, and government clients in planning, developing, and evaluating energy efficiency, peak demand management, and electrification programs.
The Project Manager crafts an optimized balance between project management, stakeholder management, and technical expertise in the field of energy efficiency.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Manage large projects (budgets, timelines, and resources);
- Coordinate consultants and technical experts working on projects, both internally and externally;
- Ensure that projects are delivered within the expected scope for clients;
- Lead communications with clients and stakeholders and maintain frequent contact with them;
- Advise utilities, private companies, and governments on strategies to meet their energy and climate objectives through training and programs;
- Develop and contribute to capacity building projects such as guides and information resources, webinars and information sessions, as well as technical courses and workshops;
- Proactively manage and reduce project risks in collaboration with the Executive Director;
- Identify needs for resources and coordinate their assignment on projects.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Profile
- Five to seven (57) years of experience in project management or other related fields;
- At least two (2) years of experience in energy efficiency;
- Knowledge of the Ontario energy market.
- Great English communication, both orally and in writing (French is a strong asset);
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Ease with modern communication and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Planner;
- Excellent sense of organization and care for details;
- Significant resourcefulness and great capacity to be proactive;
- High level of professionalism;
- Great autonomy while enjoying teamwork;
- Ability to motivate and mobilize teams.
