Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association is a non-profit charitable community services agency established since 1976. Our spectrum of services has grown from the delivery of Chinese meals-on-wheels service to a full range of community support services, covering the whole Greater Toronto Area.


With a staff of 500 members (including full-time and part-time staff) and the help of a pool of 850 active volunteers, we serve over 15,000 clients a year, including seniors, adults, youth with physical, social, emotional and health challenges.

3,000 of whom are "home-bound" and frail.

We are currently seeking an
IT Systems Specialist to join our IT team.

Location:300 Silver Star Blvd, Scarborough


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the implementation, deployment and operation of information systems and technology solutions for agency which include but not limited to AlayaCare
  • Analyse business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the agency to identify gaps and develop technological solutions that can enhance the business processes, which may include but not limited to HRIS, an IT communication platform for staff, clients and volunteers, digital health planning (OHT), virtual care platform and office automation
  • Provide professional leadership and expert advice for integration solutions, where appropriate, from both a strategic decisionmaking and project planning perspective
  • Collection and analysis of data, prepare costbenefit analysis and estimation reports, and make recommendations to senior management
  • Lead project management for IT undertakings, including clear capture of business requirements, provision of functional deliverables, milestone planning, system optimization and integration, system user training, and project post mortems
  • Create and generate status reports to inform gaps, improvement and organization needs
  • Research, design, and implement the appropriate technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in the community and health care sector including both hardware and software to improve agency communications, access to information, and enduser productivity
  • Assist the IT Manager to develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including cybersecurity
  • To perform other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:


  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology Management
  • 3 years' of related experience, experience in the health care sector is an asset
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with ability to multitask and manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot online technologies and develop innovative solutions
  • Knowledge of WordPress for web development and SaaS, practical experience with software development, programming, and documentation
  • Proficient in the use of virtual training tools, such as MS Teams, Zoom, OTN, etc.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to speak a second language that reflects the community served, such as Cantonese/Mandarin is an asset
  • Holding a driving license and possession of car that can be used for work is preferable
  • Current vulnerable sector check (completed within one year)
