Position:
Part Time Class 2 Driver

  • Reports To: District Manager
  • Location: Montreal
Welcome to the Class 2 Driver Position with Coach Canada.

The part-time driver will provide transportation service to our customers ensuring the highest quality of customer safety and satisfaction, while complying with federal regulations, collective agreement, and company policies.

The driver will be responsible for driving a motorcoach of up to 45 feet in length and/or a double decker, right hand drive.

Our Class 2 Driver will have a class 2 license (or equivalent) with an air brake endorsement. We are looking for someone who is personable, enthusiastic and has a positive attitude


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performing daily pre
- and post-trip inspections, Promoting partner attractions and online reviews

  • Effective and professional communication
  • Ability to adapt quickly and efficiently to changing traffic patterns, street closures or detours.
  • Professionally handle guest concerns or queries
  • Drive a motorcoach of up to 45 feet in length and/or double decker, right hand drive, efficiently, and courteously on all public highways and private property as directed, including cities and mountainous regions, through all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Working knowledge of city centre and streets is essential.
  • Maintain a driving record free of all major traffic citations, including no major at fault vehicle accidents.
  • Must adhere to operating schedules, and report at the required time.
  • Participate in an initial Training Program that will be repeated annually and willingness to participate in additional training when routes or procedures change.
  • Ability to follow procedures relating to requests for special bus movements changes of bus schedules and/or protocols.
  • Ability to multitask and should an incident/accident occur, report to Dispatch immediately to respond in a quick and decisive manner.
  • Must document daily a Driver's log detailing any operational issues that have an impact upon the safe and timely operation.
  • Assisting with wheelchair lift if needed.

Qualifications

  • Obtain, possess, and maintain a Commercial Drivers License, Class 2; including an air brake endorsement.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e. a Canadian Citizen, landed immigrant or valid work permit)
  • Previous experience serving people of disability and current CPR and/or Standard First Aid certificates will be considered assets.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Hold a valid, unrestricted Class 2 Driver's license with an air brake endorsement.
  • Ability to provide a driver's abstract and obtain a criminal reference check on their own as well as, a vulnerable sector search.
  • Must pass the Ministry of Transportation Medical to qualify for a Class 2 Driver's License with a 'Z' air brake endorsement.
  • Willing to work split shifts, night shifts and weekends shifts on a rotating basis.
  • Be capable of meeting the physical demands of the job such as, sitting for prolonged periods of time; using extremity motion, such as reaching, gripping, push/pull of steering while, twisting and turning of neck; sensory/perceptual demands along with good concentration; visual acuity of 20/30 and colour vision deemed safe for driving to judge distances; and fine finger movements, such as keying data into GPS System keypad, etc.
  • Experienced in working in an operation with direct customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
