OPERATIONS MANAGER


Reporting to the Store General Manager, the Operations Manager's primary responsibility is to manage the merchandising, visual display, and warehouse teams with the objective of attaining location profitability targets and key KPI's.

Manages and oversees the implementation and maintenance of visual display, product presentation standards, and timely and accurate fulfillment of ECom orders and processing of shipments.


Your Responsibilities:


Customer Service:


  • Leads by example, providing exceptional customer service to Sporting Life's internal and external customer.
  • Serves as the backup to the Senior Management team.
  • Provides leadership on sales floor when designated.

Visual:


  • Directs and oversees merchandise presentation initiatives and directives; ensuring merchandise presentation standards are fully met and product quantity and quality is maintained.
  • Follows up and oversees ongoing creation and analysis of planograms as they relate to product presentation.
  • Ensures weekly merchandise directives, markdowns, and promotional set up changes are completed within required timeframes and to standard.

Warehouse:


  • Ensures product is flowing in and out of the warehouse efficiently and to standards.
  • Follows up to ensure the timely introduction of new product to the floor, achieving 24hour execution standard.

Ecom:


  • Oversees order fulfillment execution and ensures delivery time frames are met.
  • Follows up and provides coaching to resolve staffing and inventory delivery issues as required.
  • Ensures reporting is complete and submitted within the required timeframes.
  • Oversees opening and closing procedures.
  • In collaboration with the senior management team manages the preparation and execution of annual inventory.
  • Plans, executes and manages Seasonal changeovers.
  • As a Senior Management team member, ensures store and employee adherence of Health and Safety Policies and programs.
  • Ensures all loss prevention standards are followed by all employees.

Leadership

  • Motivates and leads warehouse, Ecom and visual staff regarding customer service standards, store cleanliness, departmental job lists, health and safety practices, employee relations, and compliance with Sporting Life policies and procedures.
  • Assists with staff development through ongoing coaching, succession planning, performance appraisals, and fair and consistent leadership.
  • Conducts daily coaching with team, creating an environment of highperformance through focus and achievement of Department KPI's and targets.
  • In collaboration with AM or CEM participates in first interviews for all visual, warehouse and Ecom hires.

Training:


  • Conducts onboarding and ensures orientation is completed within target timeframes.
