You are

  • A Speech Language Pathologist_. Based out of the SSCY Centre with services to Winnipeg and Interlake, you will provide services to preschoolers and their families in the Interlake. Services for children who have developmental and/or physical disabilities are provided with a family centered approach in a team based, consultative manner under the direction of the Clinical Manager.

Your Role

  • Therapy service delivery to families, caregivers and day care providers in a clinic and community settings (including homes and day cares).
  • Collect and review consumer information in order to initiate assessment.
  • Select and administer appropriate evaluation procedures and tools.
  • Interpret, document and communicate evaluation information through written and verbal reports.
  • Participate in conferences/meetings pertinent to consumers specialized needs.
  • Participate and contribute to the development of children's programming through intake meetings/review meetings, IEP/ISP meetings.
  • Complete monthly statistical records regarding consumer caseload, and submit mileage, additional expenditures, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Establish effective collaborative relationships with consumers and collaterals.
  • Demonstrate leadership within the team through identification of program/consumer needs, issues or service gaps, and participating on community committees, as requested.
  • Conduct/assist in formal presentations and workshops.
  • Maintain and replenish inventories of equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Participate in student supervision or peer mentoring/supervision as requested.
  • Participate/contribute regularly in meetings pertaining to program development and /or professional development.
  • Complete CPR/First Aid training according to program requirements.
  • Practice in compliance with Privacy legislation (i.e., PHIA, PHIPPA, PIPEDA). Collect and review consumer information in order to initiate assessment.

What You Know

  • Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in pediatrics
  • Experience with consultative/collaborative service delivery model
  • Commitment to familycentered practice
  • Strong organizational/communication skills with sensitivity to diversity
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge and experience with computers
  • Ability to work effectively as an interdisciplinary team member
  • Physical health necessary to meet demands of the position
  • Valid driver's license and access to vehicle
  • Willing to travel within Manitoba
