    Description

    Are you someone who has a real passion for helping others? We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Occupational Therapy & Recreation department.

    In accordance with established vision and values of Northern Health, the Occupational Therapist performs assessments and interventions related to patients' occupational performance according to established Occupational Therapy practices and national provincial college standards.

    This position rotates between acute physical/medical inpatient wards and outpatient services.

    The Occupational Therapist works independently and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.


    Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

    John Hospital and Health Centre is a 46-bed hospital with 115 residential care beds in the adjoining Peace Villa Care Home.

    They have two state of the art operating rooms, ambulatory clinics including cancer care and hemodialysis, emergency and ICU, a birthing centre with single maternity rooms for labour, delivery, and post-partum.

    Graduate of a C.T. approved program in Occupational Therapy


    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and the members of the interdisciplinary team using, oral written and computer communication means. Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.

    Leadership:
    Promotes staff morale, engagement, and risk-taking.

    Demonstrates creative planning for change and innovations, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self and others.


    • Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Windows based programs. Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools.
