Administrative Assistant, Internship in Architecture (IAP)
Full-time Permanent


The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) is a self-regulating, not-for-profit organization that is governed by the _Architects Act_, a statute of the Government of Ontario.

Its principal object is to regulate the practice of architecture.

Position Summary


Reporting to the Registrar with the general direction of the Administrator, Internship in Architecture Program (IAP), the Administrative Assistant, IAP will assist with the daily administration of the IAP and liaise with Student Associates, Intern Architects and other IAP stakeholders regarding the requirements to become an Architect in Ontario.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide information to students, intern architects and internationally trained professionals and other members of the public regarding the requirements to become an Architect in Ontario.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of IAP experience submissions.
  • Update OAA database, input data, run queries and reports.
  • Create and maintain files for intern architects and student associates.
  • Process examination eligibility and results.
  • Liaise with internal staff, provincial and national associations.
  • Stay uptodate with changes to the IAP, policies, and national standards.
  • Administrative tasks as required.
  • Meeting support to OAA Committees and OAA Council.
  • Provide office and administrative support as needed

Qualifications:


  • Strong administrative skills
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a tightknit group while still maintaining an independent workload
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of MS Office (Word & Excel) and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent, post secondary education is preferred
  • Experience working in a regulatory environment is preferred.
Compensation
- $50,000-$55,000/year commensurate with experience

Office hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
