About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity at our Social and Digital Agency ) on our Lifestyle Team for an Editor position. Reporting to the Digital Strategist, you will be responsible for content on Food Network Canada.

The team is a tight braintrust within a large corporation.

It is comprised of a fast-paced and innovative team of strategists, editors, producers, analysts, community managers, designers and platform experts.

They are problem-solvers, out-of-the-box thinkers, trend-hunters and data synthesizers. The team thrives on collaboration and communication, and no creative idea goes unexplored.


You will contribute by:


  • Brainstorm, create, edit and upload original, compelling digital and crossmedia content that supports the editorial mandate with formats including articles, galleries, series, interactive features and branded content
  • Work with a roster of diverse content contributors; sourcing, fielding pitches, editing content
  • Managing invoice intake and budget tracking for diverse content contributors
  • Maintain updates with content assignments; managing the editorial calendar
  • Ensure timely, datadriven comprehensive coverage of important events and viral recipes calendar, seasonal, trending
  • Efficiently build content in WordPress and other priority content management systems
  • Honouring brand style guides: Edit for grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors across sites
  • Ensure all content adheres to SEO best practices and Strategist recommendations
  • Coordinate with other brands to align content for crosspromotion and audience sharing
  • Source highquality editorially accurate images and size using Photoshop, adhering to our site specs
  • Work with Digital Producers to ensure alignment of seriesrelated content with the content strategy
  • Meet targets set by Strategists, departments, sales and marketing campaigns, and related business goals
  • Collaborate with on ideation and execution of content
  • Manage execution of original series and related excellent digital content and editorial
  • Occasional opportunity to contribute content to Corus lifestyle brands and appear oncamera, across different platforms

Skills and Experience you will bring:

  • 2-3 years of experience in editing, writing, and content creation
  • Expertlevel skills in copy editing, proofreading, and ensuring adherence to style guides
  • A background in recipe editing and writing for digital platforms is required (recipe development for video is a significant asset)
  • A solid understanding of the type of content that appeals to and engages target digital audiences within the food entertainment, cooking and lifestyle space
  • Excellent writing and recipe content packaging skills with a strong understanding of SEO
  • Understanding of analytics, including Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
  • Ability to manage and source a diverse roster of freelancers
  • Strong Photoshop skills and experience deploying content via social platforms like Pinterest
  • Ability to meet deadlines and the capability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent information synthesis, communication and collaboration abilities
  • Showcases candor, openness, integrity, respectfulness and a growth mindset
  • Accuracy, attention to detail on all projects with the willingness to learn, grow, adapt
  • Selfmanages project timelines, volume and workflows
  • Quickly adapts to changing media landscape and company priorities
