JOB SUMMARY:


The Strategist, Operational Excellence provides advice, guidance and support to directors and managers in operationalizing corporate and departmental priorities including equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI); health and safety; wellness; talent management; succession planning, and operational performance factors.

The OEC provides strategic support on the design and implementation of programs and strategies necessary to drive change, shift culture, and deliver on identified priorities at a front-line operational level.


You will provide individual and group coaching, as well as change management and leadership development advisory services to leaders at all levels, in order to improve individual and team effectiveness and deliver on corporate and departmental priorities.

You work in partnership with departments that develop and implement Corporate Policies and Programs, in order to understand how to operationalize these programs.

You will lead and manage projects and programs, analyze and develop leadership competency assessments, build strategies, systems and frameworks that strengthen operational excellence.


Operational Excellence Strategist - Safety, Equity & Performance Unit - 18 Month Term


This position will provide advice, guidance, and support to the department in operationalizing corporate and departmental priorities including equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), employee engagement and wellness.

The successful incumbent will design and implement programs and strategies necessary to drive change, shift culture and deliver on priorities at a front-line operational level, using a variety of tactics such as individual and group coaching, change management and advisory services to leaders at all levels.

Experience in leading EDI initiatives and creating more inclusive workplace cultures within front-line operational environments is an asset.


Operational Excellence Strategist - Learning & Development Unit - Permanent Position


This position will be responsible for the overall development of leadership and employee development programs designed to successfully meet corporate and departmental learning objectives and in support of the cultural direction as set out by the Safety, Equity, and Performance Unit.

The successful incumbent will design and implement new programs and manage and evolve current programs, including the creation and customization of content, facilitation, and delivery of workshops.

This position requires experience in creating programs with curriculum and content that builds upon and supports interconnected themes, and aligns itself with strategic corporate, departmental, service area and culturally relevant priorities and goals.

The position also requires extensive leadership development skills such as conducting leadership skills assessments, have an understanding of varying methodologies, and competencies and leadership styles across a variety of business lines and functions.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Four (4) year university degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, Counselling or a related field.


Minimum six years related experience including developing, implementing, and supporting large-scale and complex operational performance development programs such as Employee Engagement, Operational Excellence, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Safety, and providing individual/team coaching, change management services and project management experience working on large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives and programs.


CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES:

Coaching certification recognized by International Coaching Federation or Certification in Continuous Improvement or Change Management within timeframe determined by the Employer
