Element Fleet Management is seeking a Lead, Applications - SAP to join our team.

The Lead, Applications - SAP will coordinate all software maintenance and development activities.

This pivotal role involves guiding and influencing IT resources (internal and external), overseeing project lifecycles, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives.

  • Experienced in working on functional areas of FI and CO modules
  • General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Banking, Cost Centre Accounting, Profit Centre Accounting (PCA), Asset accounting?

A Day in the Life


Implementation & Project leadership- Act as a technical leader influencing cross functional teams to implement assigned Products/projects/PEERs (on-time and in-full)- Hold teams accountable for software development best practices for solutioning, coding and testing- Hold teams accountable to documentation best practices for project artifacts e.g.

Technical specification document (TSD), functional specification document (FSD), Impact analysis (IA), high level and low level design documents, system architecture diagrams- Review and approve the above critical project artifacts for responsible assigned workstreams- Help the Manager / Solution architects with high-level estimation and clarification of technical implementation of features- Lead discussions with business stake holders in getting requirements, design, and solution buy-in- Create technical work breakdown structures and task dependencies for your assigned workstream(s)- Prepare software packages for deployment that adhere to the defined standard deployment policies- Be highly responsive to critical production issues providing timely and effective solutions- Act as the point of contact for major upgrades to plan testing and change in functionality for your workstreams.

Steady State/Ongoing- Track build activities on a daily basis with the outsourced partners.

Expected to review the code / configuration on daily basis and raise flags if there are concerns- Accountable for daily check of the jobs/processes under assigned workstreams systems and leads proactive capacity and performance planning and issue resolution if any required- Participate in design and change committee meetings and provide context and data driven recommendations for leadership team to make decisions for your workstream(s) as needed- Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code- Participate in Agile sprint planning sessions and provide constructive feedback- Research and recommend enhancements of SAP functional areas (in conjunction with Manager) including the use and integration of cloud products (such as Blackline, Vertex tax solution, Ariba, Concur, Onestream, etc.)



Partner with/ guide Third Pary Vendor Resources- Mentor and guide junior/new TCS resources working in AMS (Application Maintenance & Support) to bring them up to speed technically and functionally where needed


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree required with strong academic record in Software Engineer or related Engineering disciplines years of progressive work experience working hands on software development years of experience as an Applications or Team lead / leading small software development teams
  • Hands on experience in developing RICEFWs and good knowledge of FICO configurations
  • Hands on experience in creating architecture documentation, functional / technical specification documentation
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to interact with Business users/stakeholders
  • Experience in working with North American business/organizations (CAN/US/Mexico)
  • Experience in working on functional areas of FI and CO modules
  • General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Banking, Cost Centre Accounting, Profit Centre Accounting (PCA), Asset accounting
  • Excellent organization, logic, and analytical skills with a very strong aptitude for problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, propose effective solutions, and drive projects to successful completion
