Strategic Sourcing Group's (SSG) role, in collaboration with our business partners, is to create sustainable competitive advantage for TDBG by leveraging this third party spend and the expertise of our key suppliers to meet our needs, reduce total cost, and mitigate supply-related risks.


  • Our role is global in scope and we have just embarked on a journey to transform the way we do sourcing, purchasing and vendor management within our department and more broadly across the organization.
Our team is comprised of ~200 people who are in various TDBG locations across North America.

The Associate Sourcing Manager, within the IT Procurement - Infrastructure portfolio, is a results-driven individual, who works in collaboration with all SSG Teams, Enterprise Control Functions, business unit leaders, business partners, external entities, TD suppliers and new suppliers to deliver on sourcing initiatives involving Infrastructure, including hardware, software, telecommunications, network, appliances, hosting, cloud and related services, with a focus on best in class practices and solutions, that will enable sustainable value to the organization by reducing cost, optimizing solutions, negotiating contracts and supporting vendor management, while mitigating supply-related risks.

This role is enterprise wide and global in scope.


Job Description:


  • Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, Infrastructure, IT Procurement, the Associate Sourcing Manager's key accountabilities are;
  • Leading vendor engagement requests from business units, understanding their business needs, strategies and objectives in order to align our deliverables to meet TD's procurement policy
  • Manage multiple deals simultaneously, often to tight deadlines, while maintaining compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Awareness and management of initiative based business unit spend as it relates to third party engagements, in order to create P&L and cost avoidance recognized by the business and organization
  • Drive value in supply chain/total cost of ownership sourcing initiatives through early engagement, commercial acumen and market knowledge. Activities also include vendor engagement, contract negotiation, solution/supplier evaluations (including due diligence) and supplier selection activities
  • Ensure effective delivery of Strategic Sourcing Group (SSG) services to business partners and ensure prompt and thorough resolution of all client issues
  • Collaborate with SSG teams to conduct Information Technology market intelligence activities including industry, supply market and supply chain research/analytics, category sourcing and outsourcing trends and best practices and share knowledge, insight and advice with business in a way that contributes to their long term business strategies
  • Provide guidance and insight on sourcing best practices and provide counsel to business to ensure supplier arrangements meet all TDBG policy and regulatory requirements
  • Working with engagementbased key partners to provide Sr. Management and SSG Executives with contract overview, identifying commercial terms, risks, mitigations and spend policy approvals for review, feedback and approvals prior to completion of agreement.
  • Maintain currency in reporting and administration of the above activities.

Requirements:


  • Success in this role will be driven by your communication and influencing skills and your drive to get things done.
  • Post-Secondary education/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Fluency with TD tools (Ariba and Hiperos familiarity is an asset)
  • Maintain currency in reporting and administration of the above activities.
  • The ability to create and manage complex business and delivery models
  • Knowledge and understanding of Strategic Sourcing practices and standards
  • Strong commercial acumen and business judgment
  • Strong drive and determination to flawlessly execute and deliver
  • Strong written/verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Stakeholder/Relationship Management and Networking skills
  • Experience in Project Management with strong analytical skills
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint
