    The Opportunity:

    WSP Canada is expanding its ERI (Energy, Resources, and Industry) division and is seeking a Director of Project Management to join the Major Projects team.

    If you're the chosen Director of Project Management, you will need to be an impressive program manager capable of leading and overseeing a team of Project Managers and Directors handling complex major projects. This role requires strong governance and decision-making skills to effectively manage current projects and explore potential business opportunities with different clients. Reporting to the Vice President of Major Projects, the ideal candidate will be situated in one of our offices in Toronto, Sudbury, Calgary, or Montreal.

    Our Major Projects division provides support to clients nationally. Over time, we have built a broad range of services and our expertise is highly respected in the industry.     What You Can Expect to Do Here:
    • Be involved in significant decision-making processes for technical aspects of WSP projects.
    • Lead project planning, resource management, subcontractor oversight, and staffing.
    • Provide supervision and governance for ongoing major projects within the ERI major projects team.
    • Engage in business development activities such as proposal assessments, client interactions during bidding, and contract negotiations.
    • Develop and manage multiple Project Budgets & Schedules, ensuring timely updates and effective communication.
    • Proactively manage project deadlines and address any conflicts promptly.
    • Evaluate team capabilities and mentor members as needed.
    • Ensure project deliverables meet technical standards, schedules, and budget requirements.
    • Review project documents and contractor quotations for cost efficiency.
    • Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external clients through a dedication to excellence.
    • Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture based on respect and support.
    • Manage various stakeholder groups effectively.
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
    • Key project management responsibilities include proficiency in:
      • Reporting and Scheduling,
      • Revenue Forecasting,
      • Budget Management,
      • Business Development,
      • Staff Planning and Project Organization Designs,
      • Supply Chain Management,
      • Construction Management.
    What You'll Bring to WSP:
    • 10-15+ years' experience in Project Management or a similar role.
    • Completion of formal project management training, PMP certification is a plus.
    • 4-8 years of EPCM experience in industrial projects is an advantage.
    • P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation is beneficial.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
    • Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and ensuring high client satisfaction.
    • Proficient in MS Office tools and database software.
