Job Summary:


Reporting to the Supervisor Early Years and Child Care Services, Children's Services, the Reporting Analyst is responsible for supporting Children's Services in gathering, analyzing, and reporting on local financial data.

The Reporting Analyst is the first point of contact for local contracted licensed child care providers and early years services providers related to budgets, data gathering, financial assessments and reviews, and sharing of policy, process and program information.

The Analyst reviews data collection processes and systems employed to identify, design and implement improvements.


Education:


  • Postsecondary degree that includes courses on social statistics, statistical analysis, finance, economics, accounting, and program evaluation.
  • Postsecondary degree in relevant disciplines (e.g., Mathematics, Social Sciences, Finance, Accounting and Computer Science) or equivalent is preferred.

Knowledge:


  • Over 3 years' experience in data collection, data synthesis, financial review and analysis, and evaluation
  • Knowledge of human services, accounting or finance is preferred
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills and experience in the use of a variety of software utilized in the analyses of data (e.g., SPSS, Excel)
  • Knowledge and experience of program/project evaluation
  • Knowledge and experience in data acquisition, coordination, analysis, interpretation and management
  • Knowledge of or ability to obtain knowledge of child care management systems is preferred

Responsibilities:


_ Lead the collection, review and analysis of data, and organize reporting systems to incorporate all Children's Services and Ministry of Education required data variables to meet provincial and local reporting requirements.
