POSITION SCOPE

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Needs Identification & Analysis

  • Maintains an indepth understanding of business processes as well as system functionality, interfaces, and data sources, to support conducting impact and risk assessments for proposed business process, workflow analysis, and information technology changes and providing recommendations to mitigate these risks.
  • Builds and maintains understanding of complex crossfunctional processes and applies advanced systems analysis expertise to recommend technology investments and develop solutions to meet business needs.
  • Understands and analyses data from multiple sources to make datadriven decisions and develops, tests and deploys complex reports, dashboards and presentations that span multiple data sources while providing supporting analysis and results.
  • Gathers requirements and performs sophisticated data analysis across multiple data sources to develop enterprise reports and dashboards for corporate decisionmaking.
  • Conducts impact and risk assessments for proposed business process and information technology changes to provide recommendations to mitigate these risks.
  • Reviews and models existing processes to discover efficiencies and improvements for better customer and enduser experiences.
  • Develops new processes to enable the business to meet the needs of our customers and designing flows in the process repository.
  • Explores and evaluates options, creates detailed designs and plans, and implements the solutions, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Uses expert analysis and creative problemsolving skills to challenge system limitations and overcome complex, multidimensional issues and gaps to leverage existing investments in recommending relevant solutions.
  • Contributes to the development of Digital Solutions strategic plans and operational work plans, considering system sustainability, contingency, and life cycle planning.
Project Support

  • Supports and provides input to the development of project plans, identifying opportunities and monitoring and management of project activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope while mitigating both the frequency and impact of risks.
  • Assists with the prioritization and allocation of operational tickets as required.
  • Supports and mentors more junior analyst colleagues on business analysis tools and techniques.
  • Maintains uptodate knowledge and expertise in the information technology field.
External / Internal Relationships

  • Manages collaborative and resultsoriented relationships, acting as a respectful, courteous and professional representative of OCH with all workrelated contacts.
  • Builds strong working relationships, both within and outside OCH
  • Works with stakeholders to understand business rules and requirements, including intricate legislative requirements, to prioritize and incorporate these into systemenabled business processes and associated reports.
  • Participates on various work groups and committees, including external user groups.
  • Promptly reports all workplace accidents or incidents and unusual or dangerous work conditions
  • Represents OCH in a professional manner and treats all workrelated contacts with respect and courtesy
  • Works in collaboration with other staff in a team approach to service delivery
  • Works in alignment with OCH vision, mission, values, interests, plans and objectives
  • Performs work in accordance with applicable health, safety and privacy legislation, policies and procedures, and all other legislation, policies and procedures relevant to area of work
  • Works in compliance with applicable statutory requirements, including Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all other legislation, policies and procedures relevant to area of work.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with one or more of the following enterprise reporting tools (e.g. SQL Server Reporting Services
  • SSRS), Oracle Reports, Power BI, Unit4 ERP Reporting, or dashboard development is desirable
  • Experience mentoring colleagues on business analysis tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or Business Analyst (PMI-PBA), and Project Management (PMP) and ITIL Certifications are all desirable.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of best practices related to business systems life cycle management.
  • Knowledge of systems analysis, design, and integration methodologies.
  • Knowledge of business process analysis and workflow design and development.
  • Knowledge of SQL in Oracle and MS SQL Server databases, including knowledge of procedural programming languages such as Oracle PL/SQL and Microsoft T-SQL.
  • Knowledge of enterprise report
