Acquired in 2018 by Tidan, this hotel is located in the heart of the Montreal metropolis.

The Marriott Château Champlain is a 1-minute walk from the metro, accessible by an underground route, adjacent to the Bell Centre and also by 1000 de la Gauchetière.

This iconic and emblematic hotel in Montreal was completely renovated in 2021, with 36 floors, 614 rooms, 13 suites, 25 meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 1000 customers.

Reporting to the Food and beverage supervisor, the room service attendant answers call and takes meal and beverage orders from guests.

They deliver directly to the room, following company standards. Their phone and in-person greetings should be warm and personalized. They are familiar with the loyalty program as well as the menu offered at the restaurant and bar. They handle billing and payments. They collaborate with other team members. They ensure customer satisfaction and handle complaints, if necessary. They make necessary deliveries to rooms, the gym, or the reception area.


Responsibilities:


  • Set up work station (napkins, utensils, etc.)
  • Ensure all necessary equipment is available for food and amenity deliveries
  • Maintain an uptodate amenity list
  • Follow Marriott service standards for phone calls and deliveries
  • Explain the dishes and beverages offered on the menu
  • Provide recommendations to customers
  • Suggest wine pairings with dishes
  • Punch in all orders
  • Prepare tables according to the order
  • Regularly clear floors
  • Clean and arrange tables and food warmers
  • Assist colleagues as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness in the room service department according to hygiene and sanitation standards
  • Perform any other tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the restaurant

Key Skills:


  • Sales and customer service aptitude
  • Professional attitude and behavior (teamwork, autonomy, enthusiasm, interpersonal skills, honesty, etc.)
  • Ability to handle monetary transactions (balancing cash register)
  • Knowledge of different wine characteristics
  • Proficiency in Micros Simphony software
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good sense of observation
  • Adaptability

Required Qualifications:


  • Bilingualism (French and English)
  • Legal age to work in an establishment serving alcoholic beverages (in Quebec, the legal age is 18)
  • Service training (an asset)
  • Minimum 2 years of service experience
