Porter Warehousing & Distribution Inc. is looking for an experienced and highly motivated
Warehouse Supervisor to join our team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this exciting opportunity is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations and personnel to ensure compliance with regulations, quality, processes, and safety requirements.

The Warehouse Supervisor is a key contributor to the achievement of the businesses strategic plan and operational deliverables.

Duties

  • Responsible for effective warehouse space management to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of product storage and movement
  • Schedule and direct the workforce daily tasks to meet client requirements and operational and team member deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safe operating procedures, client requirements, and governing regulations
  • Provide timely team member coaching or corrective actions as required
  • Responsible for addressing employee concerns and escalating as required
  • Conduct team members performance reviews, training, and recommends professional development
  • Facilitates team toolbox talks and liaisons between various departments, client, and management to ensure accurate and timely warehouse activities information flows
  • Completes reports and paperwork in compliance with client requirements, governing regulations, and quality standards
  • Conducts incident investigations in collaboration with safety or management and completes reports
  • Reports all product damage in compliance with company and client procedures
  • Supports dispatching functions and resolves receiving and shipping variances between the parties
  • Responsible to ensure facility good housekeeping standards are maintained and for reporting equipment and building deficiencies to the appropriate department
  • Ensures deficient equipment is locked and tagged out
  • Participates in the warehouse/client audit processes
  • Occasional travel to meet operational requirements
  • Other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Must have a high school diploma with a minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience and 35 years' warehouse experience. A certificate in leadership is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to operate machinery and successfully complete third party and onsite testing and certification requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational, time management, problemsolving, and verbal and written communication skills required.
  • A valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's license and reliable transportation is required.

Nice to Have

  • 3PL warehousing experience.
