Description

This is a contract position for a DevOPS / Cloud Engineer for our public sector client.

Duration:
Twelve Months

7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support cloud environments to create digital products
• Monitor and assess the performance of applications in a cloud environment to ensure solutions are available
• Create, test and implement safeguards to maintain data integrity and protect against unauthorized access

General Skills:

• Experience in one of the leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, etc
• Experience in maintaining complex Linux cloud environments, like Cent

OS, Ubuntu, or CoreOS, to support modern web technologies:
LAMP, MEAN, Drupal and Elasticsearch

• Experience setting up development environments and mechanism using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Maven and Jenkins or similar tools
• Experience in scripting languages like Python, Bash, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Node, etc.
• Experience in build tools like Git, Ansible, Chef, Puppet etc. for continuous integration
• Knowledge of containerbased virtualization technology like Docker Integration experience in building and using APIs
• Experience applying industry web, architectural and security standards and best practices
• Experience in mobile device management for various versions of cellular and tablets

Qualifications
Project Management Skills in IT

• Effective project planning, scope definition, and resource allocation

Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and maintaining complex Linux cloud environment

• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Node) and build tools (Git, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Ability to design, build, and administer CI/CD pipelines for continuous development and deployment

Cloud Solution Design

• Assessment of frameworks, platforms, and tech stacks for creating cloudbased solutions
