We are currently recruiting for a Director of Care, at our Toronto Location. The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director, LTC Community and will be accountable for the clinical care in the Long Term Care Community. Our top priority is to keep residents and team members safe. Key Accountabilities: 1. Resident Care Excellence Work effectively and efficiently with members of an interdisciplinary team including the University Health Network (UHN), medical director and attending hysicians to ensure the highest level of care is provided to resident Engage residents, families and team members to deliver plans of care that meet individual and population needs Promote resident safety, including infection disease prevention practices Mitigate risks to improve and sustain a safe environment for residents, including implementing infection disease prevention practices 2. Leadership, Coaching & Engagement Lead a team of nursing staff and care staff to ensure high quality compassionate care is provided to residents Responsible of hiring, training, managing performance and engaging a team of clinical staff to deliver quality care Promote a positive working environment for team members and external partners Ensure all necessary professional practice standards are sustained 3. Regulatory Compliance Comply with required company policies, provincial regulations and applicable long term care legislations Conducts audits to determine effectiveness of clinical care services in the Care Community 4. Planning & Budgeting Plan, develop and manage the annual nursing budget Implement inventory control and effective use of clinical care resources Education & Experience Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Provincial College of Nurses of Ontario Minimum one year of experience working as a Registered Nurse in the long term care sector Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse in a managerial capacity in healthcare Passionate commitment to seniors living, quality care and improving the resident experience Strong demonstrated leadership and communication skills Demonstrated leadership experience in the senior living environment Some experience working with mental health and addictions are an asset Bachelor of Nursing Science and a Geronotological Nurse Certification (GNC) are an asset
