You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. At Dillon, we operate as one team. This position is available at any of the following Dillon offices: Ontario: Chatham, Kitchener, London, Oakville, Ottawa, Toronto or Windsor. Responsibilities What your day will look likeProject Management & Design (92%)Environment Lead for a large linear infrastructure project with responsibilities that include:Review contract documents for deliverablesReview specifications and submittalsPrepare environmental oversight plansReview contractor submissions for completionConduct technical reviews and coordinate with other technical support staff as neededCoordinate with Engineers and design compliance manager and other design reviewers to resolve conflicting commentsInput to progress reports and weekly updatesLead the preparation of technical reports including: Phase I/II/III ESAs, conceptual site models, remedial options analysis, remedial action plans, tender packages (including technical specifications and contract drawings), and cost estimatesComply with corporate, client, and site-specific health and safety protocols and programs and applicable health and safety regulationsLead and oversee the design and implementation of sampling programs for the collection of soil, groundwater, surface water and sedimentsPrepare and manage: field programs, prepare project contracts and agreements, complete sub-contractor selection and oversight and organize/manage field teamsWork with senior specialists and technical teams on development of remedial and/or risk management optionsBusiness Development (5%)Respond to Requests for Proposal related to contaminated sites work and develop strong client relationshipsCoordinate, manage and build business relationships with: clients, regulators, service providers (e.g., laboratories, sub-contractor) and third-party stakeholdersLearning & Development (3%)A commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentInput to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees Qualifications What you will need to succeedA degree in environmental engineering, geology, or another relevant engineering discipline.Licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist in the Province of OntarioStrong background in contaminated sites management, remediation, geosciences, construction projects and health and safetyStrong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.Has or is fully able to obtain Federal Security StatusValid Driver’s License Experience Understanding of environmental regulations related to contaminated sites, hydrogeology, and excess soil management in OntarioManagement of projects in remote and urban locationsExperience with contract administration and construction observationDemonstrated capabilities in multidisciplinary teamwork as well as the ability to work independentlyPassionate about personal and professional growth, working collaboratively to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations, and developing innovative solutionsTechnical proficiency in several or many of the following will be considered an asset: site characterization, geology, hydrogeology, field procedures, basic chemistry, chemistry, remediation, cost estimation, contracting/construction, hazardous materials, health and safety.Experience working around heavy equipment, including drill rigs and excavatorsStrong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office family of productsProficiency in several of: GIS, Surfer, GINT, ESdat or database abilities will be an assetWhy choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
