Bench’s Business Operations team designs, configures and builds the systems and processes that enable the rapid scaling of Bench in our mission. The Business Operations team focuses on Sales, Client Success, Bookkeeping and Tax Teams, but supports systems across Bench so there’s room to grow as our team and Salesforce sophistication does. As our first Bench Salesforce developer in the Business Operations team you’ll play an integral role that helps fellow benchmates each and every day. You’ll be a key Business Operations collaborator with our partner organization of world-class engineers in Bench’s core Product and Technology team, partnering with them and owning and driving Bench-wide Salesforce sophistication and improvements. You’ll be empowered to identify areas where Bench can improve our Salesforce and contributing systems functionality, present customization recommendations to capitalize on these opportunities, and make your recommendations happen. You’ll gain foundational knowledge of an industry-standard tech-stack and the supporting and surrounding applications that will enable you to become a guru in start-up CRM and associated systems contributions, customizations, and engineering.Reporting to our Sr Manager, Business Operations, you will have the opportunity to hone your Salesforce engineering skills, systems thinking, structured problem solving, and API and process integration skills with the support of a high-performing, collaborative team. You’ll be an influencer and a key creator to driving the success & growth of a company that's changing what's possible in the industry.Here are some of the things you’ll be getting up to: Keep abreast of Salesforce releases, features and best practice coding, tools, platforms, and capabilities. Make recommendations to management regarding implementation and changes (e.g. standardizations, longer-term solutions) and build customized solutions using the Lightning platform, Visualforce, and Apex, including integrations with third parties such as Stripe and Marketo, and our own in-house bookkeeping application.Collaborate with an equally client and user-focused team to update, maintain, create, and continuously improve Salesforce customizations such as custom fields, objects, workflows, process builder, and validation rulesSupport and customize data integrations leveraging APIs to and from our CRM, with the primary goal of keeping our data clean, actionable and as automated as possibleWork with our analysts and data architects to ensure that our systems store data for easy interpretation, analysis, and ultimately, easy actionTranslate requirements from Business Leaders, Engineering Partners, and Product Managers, recommending possible solutions while acting as a project manager and executor, when requiredDrive automation that removes repetition across our Salesforce clouds and adjacent systemsAssist in the research and maintenance of sales systems and toolsCoaching junior Salesforce Administrators, Developers, and coordinators in the execution of workSupport the creation and maintenance of training materials and training curriculum for both internal and external usersAssist in documenting system configuration and administrative processesSupport new and existing Salesforce user base with questions and issues across all business units and clouds.
