    Description

    Welding Technician Job Opportunity

    • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • Experience: 1-2 years or equivalent experience

    Tasks:

    • Operate welding equipment (manual, semi-automatic, fully automated)
    • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
    • Operate flame-cutting equipment (manual or semi-automatic)
    • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD)
    • Operate metal shaping, straightening, bending machines (brakes, shears, etc.)
    • Work with oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air)
    • Utilize welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
    • Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production line
    • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment

    Welding techniques:

    • Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW)
    • Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
    • Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG)
    • Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
    • Flux core arc welding (FCAW)
    • Plasma arc welding (PAW)
    • Submerged arc welding (SAW)
    • Brazing and soldering
    • ARC spot
