What you will do:


Under the general direction of the Senior Dean, the Academic Program Manager provides academic and administrative leadership to a portfolio of programs in collaboration with the Associate Deans.

The Academic Program Manager has oversight and directs the development and implementation of Faculty-based academic and student success initiatives such as professor and support staff recruitment and retention, student retention and success, strategic enrolment management, academic operations, and integrity of programming.


The Academic Program Manager (APM) is responsible for daily operating matters and operational planning/management within the Faculty ensuring that the semester-to-semester goals of the Faculty are met.

As part of the APM's operational oversight, they will have part-time support staff and Professors as direct reports.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the hiring of new and returning employees in collaboration with the Associate Dean to support the continuity of programming in a unionized environment
  • Provides the following support to programs within their portfolio: academic decisions, student registration, appeals, inclass conflict resolution, academic standing, and progression between semesters
  • Collaboratively manages recruitment, marketing, and outreach initiatives for the programs within their assigned portfolio
  • Analyzes data and available intelligence to support strategies and recommendations that inform plans of action as appropriate
  • Places learners at the centre of their decisionmaking and advises and supports learners through the resolution of studentrelated conduct and academic performance issues

What you bring to the role:

  • 4-year undergraduate degree in a related discipline to FSCS, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in an academic setting supporting student success.
  • Demonstrated commitment to EDIB understanding and practice.
  • Excellent listening skills, verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate and negotiate with people is essential;
  • Computer literacy essential; experience with software to support teaching, research, and administrative activities;
  • Teaching experience would be considered an asset.
