Triple Eight Transport Inc. is currently looking to add a new member to their high performing
Accounting Team.


This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing a team environment to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting and yearend audit preparation.


Responsibilities include:


  • Oversee, audit and manage general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger and taxes
  • Perform complete bookkeeping functions Manage cash flow, forecasting cash flow needs.
  • Examine and analyze journal ledger entries, bank statements, expenditures, GST and PST filings and other accounting and financial records
  • Maintain cash receipts, bank deposits, manage petty cash responsibilities, responsible for bank reconciliation
  • Ensure monthly and quarterly government/WCB compliance submission are submitted in timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain and monitor staff holiday and track in spreadsheet
  • Update and manage Wage and Payroll spreadsheet, Fuel expenditure spreadsheet to analyze and track expense and employee records
  • Perform month end and year end close process. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. Provide financial reports to company President
  • Collect and provide information for audit inquiries and give assistance to accountants
  • Responsible for all accounting, financial and payroll functions
  • Managing a team of 4

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 year supervisory experience in Accounting field
  • Knowledge of Great Plains an asset
  • Proficient in data entry and management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • High degree of accuracy and good eye for detail
  • Selfmotivated, multitasking, organizing and prioritizing
  • Strong verbal, written communication and strong interpersonal skills

Salary:
Negotiable based on experience and education
