One of three professional schools within McMaster's Faculty of Health Sciences, the School of Nursing offers undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.

As a member of a larger Faculty, the School of Nursing offers opportunities for interprofessional education and research.

For 75 years, McMaster's School of Nursing has delivered nursing education programs that have produced generations of professional nurses who are critical thinkers and contribute to nursing practice, research, education, policy, and administration.

McMaster University and our BScN Nursing Education Consortium provide undergraduate nursing education to approximately 2,000 students annually.

McMaster's School of Nursing offers three streams of study, 1) a four-year Basic stream 2) a 20-month Accelerated stream (McMaster University site only), 3) a 3-year Post-RPN stream at Mohawk College and Conestoga College sites.

Exceptional teaching practice, providing nursing students with effective learning opportunities across educational programs. Teaching primarily focuses on BScN Theory and Practice; clinical practice and theoretical nursing courses in the undergraduate BScN programs.
Developing curriculum, learning resources and teaching materials to support student learning in the School of Nursing's educational programs.
Contribute to the academic mission at the university through teaching and learning, educational scholarship, service to the School, FHS, and University


Eligibility:

Successful completion of a master's degree is required. A MSc or a relevant health related discipline is preferred. Completion of a PhD program in Nursing or a relevant health related discipline would be considered an asset.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching in a range of learning contexts (classroom, online, simulated, hospital or community clinical practice settings).
Experience teaching courses based on inquiry or problem-based learning. Expertise teaching clinical nursing and nursing theory courses is preferred.
Experience in curriculum development and course design using evidence based educational methodology.
Ability to contribute to educational research, evaluation, and scholarship.
Minimum 3 years of recent experience teaching nursing theory and clinical practice preferred.
Experience as an educator in a Problem-Based curriculum is an asset.
Strong communication skills are required.
