Our Team:

The Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) Team at Garson Mine is an integral part of Vale's long-term operating strategy.

As part of the Garson Team, you will be supporting the Maintenance Departments in scheduling all work required to keep the plant running efficiently.

Working closely with Maintenance Supervisors, as well as other maintenance and operating departments, in scheduling all inspections and repair work will mínimally impact the plant's production.


The Opportunity:


We are currently seeking a
Supervisor, Maintenance Scheduler to join our
Maintenance Planning and Control Team at
Garson Mine in
Sudbury, Ontario.

This is a permanent position.


As a
Supervisor, Maintenance Scheduler you will be accountable for the continuous improvement of the IM/Electrical team's performance, through the effective use of established processes and procedures.

You will also be accountable for the scheduling of all planned work for the Garson's Industrial Mechanic and Electrical Departments Providing relief supervision as required.


Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Work Monday to Friday, 8 hours day shift.
  • Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (SAP, Prometheus, etc.), tools, and standards.
  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other schedulers, planners, crew members, etc.
  • Execute the "Scheduling" element of the process for all types of work orders systematic and nonsystematic maintenance. This includes shutdown (PMP) and external resourcerelated work.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all required planning/scheduling routines.
  • Ensure WO user statuses are properly maintained throughout the lifecycle of the work order.
  • Ensure work orders are planned, scheduled, and ready to be executed prior to the required end date as determined through the notification.
  • Work within assigned budgets and escalate to management should a budget be exceeded.
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of "work schedule" for completion by the Required End Date.
  • Manage backlog to ensure work orders are scheduled based on priority and required end date.
  • Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.
  • Relief supervisor as necessary which requires: Holding the crew accountable for safe behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Ensure planned work orders are closed with proper time confirmations completed.
  • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards.
  • Work with a crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.
**About You


Education:


  • College diploma or university degree in a related industrial field or a university degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred.
  • Valid industrial trade certificate for the province of Ontario.
  • Generic Supervisor Common Core

Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years of experience working within SAP and the Prometheus addon as a Planner and Scheduler.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading crews.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the trades.

Skills:


  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
