Health disciplines staff are also actively engaged with academic work, collaborating with our academic partners at Western University and other educational institutions in the provision of student placements and engagement in research initiatives.

Job Summary:


What the Role is


Reporting to the Corporate Health Disciplines Executive, the Director of Health Disciplines Academic Practice and Research will translate decisions of our senior level into execution by utilizing systems thinking, strategic planning and relationship management by developing purposeful coalitions with internal and external stakeholders.

This role provides leadership in co-creating, articulating and sustaining an organizational vision for helping to drive the research culture with Health Disciplines by embedding research, learning, and innovative practices throughout operations and all points of care of over 1,200 regulated and non-regulated health professionals that emphasizes highest quality of care.


Overseeing the Managers for these professions, the Director influences the continuing advancement of practice within an inter-professional model and provides strategic and operational leadership.

The role is responsible for facilitating, advocating, and promoting the contributions made by the professions as they relate to excellence in patient centered care, education, and research initiatives.

The Director collaborates with both program leadership and staff to ensure the integration of standards of professional practice in clinical program design, resource planning and allocation, and in the delivery of patient centered care across the organization.

This role also promotes linkages with community partners as opportunities to enhance care continuation from hospital to community, as well as linkages with our academic partners.

You will demonstrate strong business acumen including management of multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets.

This leader will have exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills that contribute to identifying problems and issues, evaluating the interdependence of decisions, questioning and challenging the status quo, and designing and implementing processes for improvement.
