    Be our next Geotechnical/Civil Engineer

    In this role, you will be a part of the Earth and Environment Group in St. John's, NL

    What a day at EXP has in store for you:

    1. Developing and maintaining business relationships with clients.
    2. Preparing proposals for geotechnical and materials testing services for a variety of civil engineering projects that include cost estimates and timelines.
    3. Planning and carrying out assignments requiring familiarity with a broad range of geotechnical engineering and materials testing.
    4. Coordinating with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, municipal staff, and other stakeholders and third parties to accomplish required project objectives.
    5. Directing field activities, including investigation, monitoring and testing services on construction projects.
    6. Coordinating materials laboratory testing requirements for various projects with laboratory manager.
    7. Maintaining monthly records per Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) requirements as CCIL Supervising Professional (SP) in maintaining laboratory CCIL certification.
    8. Participating in environmental project development (Phase I ESA, Phase II ESA, Environmental Remediation Program).
    9. Reviewing and interpreting monitoring information from geotechnical instrumentation programs.
    10. Conducting detailed design and analysis for a variety of geotechnical projects.
    11. Coordinating and participating in field investigations and QA/QC inspections.
    12. Writing and reviewing technical reports.
    13. Working with senior staff when dealing with difficult, complex and unusual matters and decisions.
    14. Performing independent studies, analyses, interpretations and conclusions.
    15. Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior staff.
    16. Supporting the development of the Earth & Environmental group by developing relationships with existing and future client contacts, attending meetings, and supporting Business Development initiatives.

    What your experience looks like:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering with a post-graduate degree preferred, with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
    • Member in good standing with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL), or ability to register with PEGNL (designation is required).
    • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in Geotechnical and/or Civil engineering.
    • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, including multi-tasking and prioritizing.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Familiarity with standard construction procedures and methodologies.
    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Valid driver's license and vehicle.
    • Willingness and ability to travel for short duration projects.
