The

Governance Lead will analyze, maintain and improve IT service delivery performance using a variety of skill to ensure compliance with existing and adoption of new services/processes to meet operational and improvement targets. The Governance Lead will also act as process consultant, analyst, business strategist, disruptor and project oversight. In this role, you will analyze current practices and develop a standardized integrated governance framework to ensure directions taken by the enterprise aligns with the Service Management strategic priorities and common standards.

You should be a skilled communicator and influencer and be adept at business analysis and project implementation.

You will also understand the latest service management trends and embody superior leadership principles and styles in your management duties.


Strategy & Planning

  • Manages the design and development of an integrated standardized governance program and framework.
  • Communicates vision and goals of governance services to staff and management.
  • Staffs and assigns governance roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensures alignment of service management processes to audit, regulatory and business requirements.
  • Ensures alignment of platform with processes and business requirements.
  • Ensures alignment of service management governance frameworks with other process frameworks.
  • Meets stakeholders needs in alignment with IT goals and CIO/CTO strategic priorities.
  • Covers all service management processes endtoend, to support IT enterprise decision making.

Operational Management

  • Ensures that new and/or updated process designs align with service management standards.
  • Conducts regular governance council reviews with Service/Process Owners and key stakeholders, e.g., monthly.
  • Sets the governance council agenda and ensures decisions and directions taken align with the Service Management Strategy.
  • Supports Pilot Service/Process Owners with implementation of Standardized Documentation & Process Control Objectives & Process Goal Metrics.
  • Supports & mentors Service/Process Owners with implementation of Service/Process Control Objectives & Goal Metrics.
  • Monitors implemented Services/Processes to assure that Service/Process goals and objectives are met.
  • Leverages data to assess improvement progress against Service/Process goals and objectives.

Communications

  • Regularly reports on status of governance to management.
  • A single source of responsibility for communications regarding governance and opportunities.
  • Communicates goals and vision to Service/Process Owners.

What you will do:


  • Collaborate with peers and other Canada Technology leaders and partners to establish a trusted service management technology strategy and consumer driven platforms roadmap
  • Oversee the development of the governance framework
  • Provide thought leadership and education on service management concepts to connect the dots between services, processes, assets, configuration items and the value the service management ecosystem provides
  • Promote practices, standards and methods to operationalize service enablement, IT data management and controls (configuration management) and IT asset management practices
  • Promote process and service provisioning automation and improvements that will accelerate delivery, increase quality and reduce maintenance and change fail rates
  • Promote maintenance of digital service management best practices, standards and guidelines
  • Collaborate with council members and partners to set direction, make decisions and manage risk
  • Ensure accountability for ownership of commitments, decisions, and actions
  • Willingly engage in committee activities
  • Ensure value is communicated by identifying opportunities that align with desired outcomes
  • Ensure direction aligns with existing structures, roles and responsibilities, policies, standards and practices
  • Ensure direction supports compliance and audit requirements
  • Manage, develop and evaluate council effectiveness
  • Drive a highperformance culture for staff and promote positive culture change within the organization
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external partners
  • Manage risk and compliance in accordance with Canadian and Global standards. Ensure alignment/adherence to enterprise technology standards, vendor management standards, and risk standards.
