Being a not-for-profit organization, Kelowna Yacht Club has been supporting boater education and safe, responsible enjoyment of Okanagan Lake since 1945.

Our facility is a resource for community partners such as the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron and Adaptive Sailing Association.

Position Summary
The primary focus of this position to provide leadership and direction for all front of house staff.

The FOH Manager will report to the Food & Beverage Manager, and is responsible for successful Member Lounge service, in accordance with the Club's high standards.

As the key liaison between members/guests and the Club, this position is responsible to ensure all staff are up to date with club communications.

Works with other team members to develop a training plan to constantly improve service. The successful applicant will be a self-starter and will be highly organized, demonstrate good judgment and strong leadership skills.


Your role will encompass the following:
*Setting priorities and delegating duties to achieve and report on revenue, cost controls, & reporting

Staff Management - Ensuring procedures, training, standards of service, quality performance and dedication of staff to member service are supported and developed


Leadership & Administration:


  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure any changes to practice or policy are implemented properly and effectively, assist in the functionality of the Club by way of, proper maintenance of equipment and furnishings, maintaining appropriate levels of Member Lounge supplies, proper setup of the lounge for regular or special service, and lastly, leading with respect for those you work with and an eagerness to help others learn and grow

Customer/Member/Vendor Relations:


  • Source and maintain strong relationships with reliable and costeffective suppliers (i.e. liquor, wine and beer vendors), respond to all member/guest feedback in a timely manner and provide a report to the Food & Beverage Manager

Safety & Security - Works together with club department heads to develop a team-like approach to operating the club where a major emphasis is placed on problem discovery and solution, ensuring safe operation of equipment, and ensuring quality control by taking great care to get items inspected on time, cleanliness, and reporting equipment defects to maintenance for repair


Requirements:


  • 3+ years of restaurant supervision/management experience
*Experience in a private club culture is an asset, but not required
*Strong negotiation skills to ensure member needs/expectations are met and exceeded while maximizing revenues and spotting up-sell opportunities
*Communicates effectively, ensuring all details and related logistics are delivered to the appropriate individual/departments
*Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
*Proactively identify problems and innovate solutions to challenging situations
*Superior organizational skills to manage tight timelines and conflicting priorities
*Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
*Schedule flexibility required to work evenings, weekends and public holiday/event days

$45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
