Elements Casino Victoria is a spacious facility with 750 slot machines, plus poker, blackjack, baccarat and roulette tables on beautiful Vancouver Island.

This facility is equipped with a restaurant as well.


About this Role:

Security Officer .

Under the supervision of the Security Manager, you will be responsible for protecting patrons, staff and assets to ensure the integrity of the gaming floor and company property Get in the game...

What You'll Get to DO (Key Accountabilities)

  • Preparing statements/reports on internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities
  • Enrolling guests into the Self-Exclusion Program
  • Conducting regular patrols of the entire property as directed; identifies risks and conditions that present safety issues.
  • Providing or assisting with First Aid for employees and guests
  • Responding to, resolving or escalating security issues
  • May escort guests and employees or escort duties as required.
  • Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
  • Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and employees
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed.

What you'll need to be Successful (Education and Qualification Requirements)

  • Post-Secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of security experience in a gaming environment; minimum 2year management experience
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • A passion for providing outstanding service to our internal and external guests
  • Understanding of yourself as well as others when communicating with team members and guests
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities
  • Serving It Right, or the ability to obtain a Serving it Right Certification
  • Must be willing to recertify for Use of Force every 3 years
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 an asset
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development
  • Can understand, speak and write English, fluency in other languages an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
  • The ability to successfully obtain a criminal record check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
