Regional Labour Relations Generalist (1 Position)**Southbridge Care Homes owns and operates 26 Long-Term Care Homes and 9 Retirement Homes throughout many urban and rural areas of Ontario.

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a
Regional Labour Relations Generalist to deliver support and expertise to our portfolio of LTC and Retirement homes.

Reporting to the Director of HR & LR the LR Generalist will demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and passion for senior care by carrying out a wide range of labor relations support to our homes.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist/support the VP of Operations and Director of Corporate Human Resources and Labour Relations in developing and implementing strategic LR goals
  • Partner with senior leadership, external partners and managing directors to identify and recommend changes to collective agreements
  • Supports the full cycle bargaining, grievance and arbitration processes
  • Maintains and updates all collective agreements upon completion of collective bargaining
  • Responsible for education and training of leaders on collective agreement process changes
  • Coordinates and supports labor relations administrative updates (i.e. wages, HRIS, etc)
  • Generates confidential management reports
  • Labour Relations Reports
  • Travel as required throughout Ontario, a reliable vehicle is a must.

Qualifications:


  • University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources Management or Labour Relations
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as an HR professional
  • Experience in a unionized environment an asset
  • CHRP or CHRL is an asset but not required
  • In depth knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, 2000 and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Knowledge of progressive techniques around employee/labour relations
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, organization, writing, and teambuilding skills
