Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Central Staffing, the primary purpose of this position is to provide temporary replacement staff to city hospital departments and programs within Eastern Health, as required, in accordance with the applicable collective agreements.

The Clerk IV works relatively independently, with a Human Resources Consultant available to provide advice and direction when needed.


Job Demands

  • Required to lift objects less than 10lbs, with majority less than 5lbs.
  • Require frequent bilateral repetitive fine motor skills (i.e. typing and mousing) while entering/maintaining data, as well as a constant requirement for eye/hand coordination to ensure precision in completing work and maintaining database file.
  • Work provides the opportunity to take postural breaks standing and walking within the office environment.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Experience with collective agreement administration and staff scheduling is required.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years' experience within the last five in a progressively responsible administrative role is required.
  • Considerable experience meeting deadlines, while maintaining a high level of productivity, accuracy and efficiency.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and be a critical thinker.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, under pressure and respond appropriately within deadlines.

  • A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
