Why This Role?:


Key Responsibilities:


Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Working under the direction of senior staff members, you will perform field review of structural components of buildings and bridges during construction, and provide written reports of progress, defects and deficiencies.
  • Review shop drawings and assist design team in reviewing and responding to site inquires.
  • Represent RJC at job site meetings with clients, contractors and other consultants.
  • Collate and review materials test reports.
  • Prepare field review reports, Site Instructions and responses to RFIs.
  • Assist with miscellaneous contract administration activities.
  • Coordinate structural work with other disciplines.
  • Bring construction and design issues to the attention of the RJC design team.
  • Assist Project Engineers in developing budgets for field review activities and monitor over the course of construction.
  • Liaise with Document Controllers on shop drawings, RFIs and other project submittals

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:


  • Diploma in Civil or Construction Engineering Technology from a recognized Technical College
  • Applicants with 2 5 years experience in commercial and/or infrastructure construction or consulting will be preferred.
  • Previous structural experience will be an asset
  • Must have valid Alberta drivers license and own dependable transportation (will be reimbursed for mileage charges)

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
  • Hard worker who readily and quickly assumes responsibility
