Position Information:


The Supervisor, Health Records Data Quality serves the organization by ensuring coded data is of the highest quality and that all mandated data submissions are completed as per regulatory guidelines and timelines.

They will maintain the data quality program and modify as new or changed requirements come forward from stakeholders or provincial/national reporting bodies.


The incumbent will ensure regular data analysis of weighted cases to identify any missed opportunities for funding allocation based on resources expended to care for patients.

A team of health record analysts will be coordinated by the incumbent to delivery timely data reporting to our internal and external stakeholders (clinical, finance, research) and aligned with the service line structure.


What you will bring:


  • Minimum 2 (two) year Diploma in Health Information Management;
  • Canadian College of Health Information Management certificate;
  • Three (3) years of recent and related experience in data analysis and reporting of coded data, coding, and Health Records Services experience in an acute hospital setting;
  • Detailed knowledge of Case mix methodologies and hospital funding formulae;
  • Proficiency in medical abstracting and report writing systems. MED2020 and Crystal Reports preferred;
  • Proficiency in computer tools such as Microsoft Office and electronic records systems. Epic preferred;
  • Foundational knowledge of health information management principles;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in dealing with fluctuating deadlines and priorities;
  • Demonstrate the TOH values in their work and interpersonal relationships;
  • Strong communication and presentation skill (oral and written) to effectively communicate with all levels of staff;
  • Strong problemsolving abilities;
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy on reporting and analysis of health data.

You will stand out with:

  • 4 Year Undergraduate Degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or related field.
