Job Description:
AECOM is seeking a ESG & Climate Strategy Analyst to be based in Calgary, AB and/or Burnaby, BC.
Job Summary
- Supporting clients with enhancing their ESG & Climate Change programs, disclosures and related management practices, including:
- Conducting ESG materiality assessments, including stakeholder interviews (e.g., investors, employees, customers)
- Researching industry trends, regulations (e.g., mandatory climate disclosures), and technologies (ex., carbon capture, energy storage)
- Performing benchmarking analysis and conducting gap analysis
- Analyzing ESG risks, with a focus on climate-related transition risks (regulatory, technology, markets, customers and legal risks)
- Facilitating ESG strategy interviews/workshops
- Integrating ESG strategy with corporate governance, risk management, and data processes
- Developing ESG disclosures (e.g., annual ESG/sustainability report, CDP), including aligning disclosures to relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., TCFD, SASB, GRI)
- Developing and implementing ESG roadmaps
- Writing proposals and winning work
- Collaborating with AECOM specialists in related fields, such as Decarbonization and Net Zero Planning, Climate Resilience and Adaptation, Carbon Capture, and Life Cycle Assessment on client engagements, proposals, and marketing activities
- Collaborating with AECOM's other service lines (Transport, Water, Buildings & Places, Energy, etc.) to embed ESG services in client project delivery
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to express ESG and sustainability concepts in business terms
- Excellent writing and communications skills
- Professional presence with the ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise
- Confident presenter, public speaker, and networker
- Detail-oriented but also a high-level strategic thinker
- Strong Microsoft Word skills, fluency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of TCFD, SASB, CDP, GRI, and climate-related transition risk and regulations
- Collaborative, curious, self-motivated, works well independently, comfortable with ambiguity
- Self-motivated to stay current and informed of both regional and global developments related to climate change, ESG, carbon capture, sustainability-linked finance and investment, renewable energy, decarbonization, green technology and clean-tech, energy efficiency, etc.
- Strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn more, and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline driven team environment
- Must be located in Canada and be willing to travel from time-to-time.
