Who We Are?


ONxpress Transportation Partners (ONxpress) were chosen by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario (IO) to enter the Development Phase of the On-Corridor Works project - the largest project in Metrolinx's GO Rail Expansion program.

Unprecedented in its scale and complexity, this multi-billion-dollar capital program will transform the GO regional rail network with electrification, more frequent service, shorter journey times and a more modernized system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Region.


Key Responsibilities

Joint Venture Specific Duties

  • Participate in the Joint Venture management meetings
  • Support the Human Resources Director by oversee HR Operations
  • Support Sr. Leadership with all Human Resources initiatives and employee relations and talent management and workforce planning
  • Lead Human Resources special projects.
  • Lead a team of Human Resources professionals.
  • Lead employee case management and investigation for the project
  • Manage JV employee lists, an, Be the single point of contact for JV Partners Human Resources departments

Other Duties & Responsibilities

General

  • Oversee HR activities on the project and ensure that all are in accordance with human resources policies and in compliance with Federal and Provincial employment and labour laws, acceptable practices and regulations;

Compensation & Benefits

  • Conduct compensation impact analysis as required, for various purposes including streamlining and organizational structure analysis, market data assessments and recommendations
  • Work with the Home Company Human Resources team on any disability case management

Employee Relations

  • Effective situation/ conflict management, working closely with managers to ensure employee relations issues are handled professionally and timely
  • Identify potential employee relations issues, resolving as appropriate and elevating to legal and senior human resources management as needed
  • Proactive outreach HR communications (supporting town halls, leadership/ operational team meetings, etc.)
  • Case management and investigations
  • Work closely with applicable home company HR teams to facilitate promotions, demotions, transfers, relocations, retirements, and terminations in a professional manner. Ensuring balance between project and employee needs

Talent Management

  • Support managers with performance management and objective setting during the regular cycle as well as when required. Effectively creating clear connections to Project plans
  • Facilitate Talent Reviews for the project teams and ensure appropriate follow up on actions
  • Support succession management initiatives and ensure appropriate succession plans are in place for the project

Programs

  • Support the rollout of various home company corporate initiatives as required and alter if necessary to suit the JV

HR Team Management

  • Work closely with the home company Human Resources teams to keep them continually up to date of all project Human Resources issues

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Post secondary school education in Human Resources Management
years' experience in a Human Resources Management role

  • A minimum of 5 years HR Generalist experience
  • Ability to work in a fact paced, dynamic and matrixed environment/ structure with high resiliency
  • Superior problemsolving skills, ability to demonstrate agility in creating valuable solutions to complex issues quickly
  • Versatility in HR portfolio is required; full scope employee life cycle, compensation, recruitment, talent management are a must. Organizational development experience is highly desirable
  • Tactful and effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact with all levels within the organization and influence as required
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to digest complex issues and simplify to enable appropriate action
  • Ability to build a consensus among peers to support human resources strategies
  • Microsoft Office Products
  • Knowledge of HRIS system (SAP an asset)
  • Accurate and detail oriented
