Responsibilities:


PRIMARY PURPOSE

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Analyses revenue and expenditure trends, highlighting any red flags; and recommending solutions as and when required. Liaises with TransLink departments, as needed, to combine expenditure programs with similar initiatives by other business functions.


Develops corporate revenue and quarterly expenditure forecasts; identifies revenue and expenditure risks, formulates mitigation strategies and provides new funding source options.

Participates in planning and support for a variety of corporate initiatives to achieve revenue and expenditure related efficiencies.


Contributes in the development and implementation of new revenue programs and in the ongoing management of the existing revenue sources.

Recommends solutions to problems and involves in ensuring adequate closure of issues in implementation and execution of these programs.

Reviews TransLink's quarterly revenue and expenditure performance results, compiles information, makes recommendations, and prepares initial consolidated draft of Board reports and Executive briefings


Ensures TransLink's various long-range financial models are up-to-date while initiating on-going improvements; discusses findings with Manager and internal stakeholders, recommending changes and following up on completion.


Participates in development of the 10-Year Investment Plan in conjunction with various cross-functional teams and promptly provides financial information when required to back up the development and management of the plan.

Manages reporting staff, providing leadership for hiring, training and development, coaching, performance planning and review and all other people management practices


Qualifications:


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


This role typically requires completion of a degree in Commerce, Finance or Economics and achievement of a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA) with six (6) years progressive experience in Corporate Finance or Senior Accounting, in a large complex unionized organization.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Advanced knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles and practices of financial accounting

Advanced knowledge of corporate financial statement presentation for use in financial model forecasts

Advanced knowledge of financial instrument derivatives for impact on forecasts

Advanced knowledge various transit mode types their funding sources and financial impact

Knowledge of the relevant governance legislation and implementation background

Advanced written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills as well as presentation skills


Other Information:


Supervises the team of Senior Financial Analysts providing business partnering support to TransLink Corporate and liaison support to the Operating Companies to ensure consistent preparation and consolidation of operating and financial information.


Recruitment Process:

An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process.

A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.


Work Schedule:

37.5 hours per week.


Work Designation:

Hybrid

This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.


Rate of Pay:


Salary:
$94,374 to $117,966 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity)
