About the role
We're looking for a Loss Prevention Consultant to join our growing team


What you'll do here:


  • Plan and carry out prevention visits to identify existing or potential risks of loss.
  • Write quality inspection reports related to the prevention visits carried out.
  • Make recommendations based on company policies and technical expertise and follow up with insureds, underwriters and brokers.
  • Educate insureds on sound risk management by providing technical advice on risk management and loss prevention.
  • Answer technical questions from insureds, underwriters and brokers.
  • Meet or exceed loss prevention productivity targets and service quality standards.
  • Establish positive relationships with clients and maintain strong relationships with internal staff and external service providers.

What you need:


  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Agriculture or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and relevant fire and building codes is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in loss control/risk engineering with Farm.
  • In progress or completion of insurancerelated loss prevention courses (Building Construction, Basic Hazards, special hazards and processes, liability loss prevention).
  • Specialized skills in trades or fire protection and prevention fields are considered assets.
  • CIP and/or CRM designation is an asset.
  • Infrared Thermography Level 1 and Level 2 is an asset.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable fire protection and construction codes and standards (electrical code, NFPA).
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Client orientation with strong relationship building skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong learning, coping and coaching skills.
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational skills, agility and the ability to work under mínimal supervision.
  • Bilingual (French and English) asset _
  • Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country_.

What to expect:


  • Extended work hours may be required.
  • Potential exposure to conditions that require health and safety protection, such as chemicals, noise, dust and debris.
  • This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment.
  • You will work on a virtual team or remotely. A high degree of autonomy is required.
