NOV has a job opening for a _
Field Service Technician_.

The Field Service Technician will be required to travel to well site locations and will be responsible for rigging up, servicing, trouble-shooting, and tearing down of specialized equipment related to assisting operations.

Travel can be regional for extended periods of time and is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and is physically demanding.


Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain, service, and set up equipment as required
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues as they arise while keeping open communication with engineers, rig personnel, and supervisors
  • Maintain strong business relationship with all clients and stakeholders; respond to customer concerns in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Diagnose problems and advise operators on how to properly maintain equipment
  • Maintain records of services performed
  • Adhere to all NOV policies and procedures (Vehicle, safety, correspondence, housekeeping)
  • Represent NOV in a professional manner at all times
  • May be required to deliver hotshot requests and install equipment on site
  • Upon supervisor request, you will be required to work in the shop occasionally
  • You will be required to travel frequently to assigned customer sites.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to 2 years of oilfield experience
    REQUIRED.

Technical Requirements

  • H2S
  • Standard First Aid
  • Common Safety Orientation
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License.

  • Shop environment orientation (exits, fire extinguishers, first aid & eyewash stations, spill kits, propane storage) and yard environment (building locations, processes)
  • Standing, walking, squatting, bending, reaching, and walking (further details to be reviewed on JHA)
  • Office environment
  • Ergonomic training
  • Training on proper usage of PPE if exposed to noise, dust and fumes.
